Quatre Bras Mini Campaign (now closed)

to the Forum Hello and welcome!

This campaign is for the "Napoleonic" expansion MOD for Mediaeval:Total War, the strategy game from Activision. The MOD was created by those amazing people at "The Lords" website.
You can download NAP.3x, the NAP:TotalWar MOD from "The Lords" for free!

BASIC RULES: The operational area for the QB Mini Campaign is divided into 10 regions.
Each region represents a NAP:TotWar battle map. The contending French and Allied forces are as historically accurate as possible. Forces can move from any region they control to any adjacent region connected with a white line. This move takes one hour of GameTime. If any force moves into a region that is already occupied by the enemy, a battle will be fought.
French forces are controlled by the GamesMaster (GM), who uses the historical French plan as a guide for French operational movement. The Anglo-Allied forces are controlled by Players. Each Player is in command of a brigade. Players will fight tactical battles and issue operational orders.
Orders are submitted in the appropriate battalion folders in the GamesDevelopment Forum.
The Forum is used for communication beween the Players themselves and with the GM.

BATTLES: All battles are fought against the AI expert level. The battle file is custom built by the GM.
Players download this file when a battle is to be fought. When the Player has completed his battle, he saves a "re-play" file and sends this file to the GM, who will adjust casualties and the operational situation according to the outcome of any battles and Player orders.

TIME SCALE: One hour of GameTime will be played in one week. 5 days to allow Players to download the battle, play it and send the replay file to the GM. The GM will take 2 days for the operational resolutions.

GENERAL BRIEFING: It's 2pm on June 16th 1815. The Anglo-Allied forces are moving into position to bring Napoleon and the French Army to battle. The important cross-road at Quatre Bras is defended by elements of the 1st Army Corps under the Prince of Orange.
The 1st Brigade of the 2nd Dutch Belgian Infantry Division is covering the approaches from the south. Their main force is at "The Ridge" and at at Gemioncourt, a screening force of Jaegers are scouting around Piraumont. The second Brigade Orange-Nassau Rgt. is at Pierrepont, 1st and 2nd Nassau Rgts. are moving up from Bois de Bossu.
9th British Brigade from 5th Infantry Division is marching through Dernier Pafard to reinforce the Anglo-Allied position. There have been sightings of French Infantry and Cavalry approaching from Frasnes. The battle for Quatre Bras is about to begin!

WANT TO PLAY? Initially, there are three command positions for the Anglo-Allied forces available. More slots will become available if and when more Allied reinforcements arrive. The Quatre Bras Mini-Campaign will start on Tuesday, August 17th 2004. If you would like to take command of a brigade and play Napoleonic battles where the outcome of each battle has an impact on the whole campaign, then this is what you do:
Click on the Campaign map above to go to the Forum page and register for forum access. You might want to choose a suitable username for a general in the Anglo-Allied Army as well. Once you have registered, go to the "New Commanders" section at the Forum, where all available command positions are posted. Choose your brigade and post your choice of command there. First come, first commissioned :)
The GamesMaster will reply with a confirmation and arrange access to the Forum for your chosen brigade. This will be your Brigade HQ, where you will be briefed on the current situation and how to issue your orders.
See you at the Forum!
